Belcan - Structures Engineer

Performs stress analysis of secondary structures for Blue Origin’s BE-4 Engine using ANSYS Mechanical
Collaborate with designers to create structurally robust designs

Technical lead for four valve styles used in nuclear applications
Manage all aspects of product life cycle from PO placement to final product shipment

Supervised non-standard project and beat cost and schedule constraints by $85k and 26 weeks

Proposal Work: Size heat exchangers to meet required thermal performance, pressure drop, weight, envelope and various requirements. Conduct stress analysis of HX core, and static pressure analysis on Headers using ANSYS workbench. Create detailed technical proposals and compliance matrices to customer requirements.
Familiar with fluid flow dynamics and heat transfer characteristics of all manner of compressible and incompressible fluids used on Aircrafts

Interpreted specifications and created testing strategy for fulfillment of Qualification requirements according to RTCA-DO-160G and MIL-STD-810.
Led team of test technicians to instrument qualification articles, create and review data acquisition schematics, and analyze test data for compliance to analysis.
Created Qualification Test Reports and Test Readiness Review Presentations.

Conducted Induction testing of Field Return Sonobuoy Launchers
Assisted in Thermal, Vibration and environmental stress testing on safety critical bomb release equipment

Analyzed and made process maps to make processes more streamlined. Participated in a Value Stream Mapping Event. Familiar with ACE Operating System.
Tasked with making Tooling Process more efficient and creating Ten year Forecast of the Tool Load.
Interpreted Engineer Drawings and Creating First Article Inspections reports.
